The Future of Agriculture Starts Today: Imon International Bank and EBRD Launch a Demonstration Site in Devashtich District

19 June 2026

A new demonstration site was officially inaugurated in Devashtich District as part of the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF II) programme, implemented in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The project aims to promote modern environmentally friendly agricultural technologies and showcases practical solutions that help farmers increase productivity, use natural resources more efficiently, and reduce operating costs.

The demonstration site has been established at the B. Narzulloev Dehkan Farm and consists of a 1-hectare intensive orchard equipped with a range of modern green technologies.

As part of the project, a 500-cubic-meter water storage reservoir, a 5 kW solar photovoltaic system, and a modern drip irrigation system have been installed. Together, these solutions ensure a stable water supply for the orchard, reduce dependence on electricity disruptions, and significantly improve water-use efficiency.

Particular attention should be given to the automated irrigation system. Thanks to the implemented technologies, irrigation is carried out automatically: the system independently regulates water delivery through drip irrigation in the required volume and at the optimal time. This approach enables more efficient resource management and creates conditions for stable crop production even during periods of increased pressure on water infrastructure.

The new site will serve as an open platform for knowledge sharing and the study of modern agricultural technologies. Farmers, agronomists, and agribusiness representatives will have the opportunity to observe the equipment in operation, receive expert consultations, and assess the effectiveness of implementing similar solutions in their own farms.

Imon International Bank consistently supports initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and the adoption of environmentally responsible technologies. Participation in green financing programmes expands farmers’ and entrepreneurs’ access to modern solutions that contribute to the development of agriculture and strengthen the country’s food security.

We believe that investments in innovation and sustainable technologies represent an important contribution to the development of Tajikistan’s agricultural sector and to building a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and competitive economy for the future.
